Pursuant to the Bill (Reg. No.1469), since 1 January 2009 the living wage should be defined not by the Law on the State Budget of Ukraine for the relevant year, as it is envisaged by the effective version of the Law "On the Living Wage", but by the decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine submitted before the State budget of Ukraine is considered. Moreover, the living wage is to be regularly reconsidered due to the rise of consumer price index.
Adoption of the Bill will contribute to the rise of public income, and secure citizens´ purchasing capacity when consumer prices and rates increase.
